The Grand Ole Opryâs 12th annual Opry Goes Pink show on Oct. 24 in support of the fight against breast cancer featured performances by Lauren Alaina, Little Big Town, and Rita Wilson with Victoria Shaw and Erin Kinsey. October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
After Little Big Town âflipped the switchâ to illuminate the Opryâs signature barn backdrop pink, Lauren Alaina started the show by performing âRun,â âGetting Goodâ and âRoad Less Traveled.â Little Big Town returned to the stage to perform âPontoon,â âBoondocks,â âWine, Beer, Whiskeyâ and more.
Rita Wilson, a breast cancer survivor, was joined by Victoria Shaw and Erin Kinsey to perform the moving new song âPink.â The studio version of the new song, which features Dolly Parton, Monica, Jordin Sparks, Sara Evans and Rita, benefits Susan G. Komen, the worldâs leading breast cancer organization.
During the show, fans were invited to make donations to Susan G. Komen. An in-venue audience of 1,100 watched the show in compliance with operating plans developed in collaboration with the Nashville Public Health Department that include socially distanced seating, mandatory masks for all guests and staff, and more.
